Halifax: insurance important as nights draw in
27 October 2009
Halifax home insurance has warned of the increased risk of burglary as the nights draw in over the winter months, according to fairinvestment.co.uk.
The insurance provider said that there are a number of things people can do to limit their risk of burglary - such as fitting burglar alarms, installing security lights, and keeping windows and doors locked.
Halifax added that households should also ensure that their home insurance is up-to-date and sufficient for their needs.
An insurance expert at Think Money said: "It`s easy to see burglary as something that `happens to other people`, until it actually happens to us. It`s important that people are not complacent, and that includes making sure that they have adequate insurance in place for the worst-case scenario."
